As of July 1, 2024, bol has decided to no longer allow sponsored reviews. This decision means that reviews for which the author has received compensation, such as money or free products, are no longer allowed to be posted. Some sellers and brands used a test panel or selected customers to gather reviews in exchange for a free product. With an adjustment to the self-promotion rules for partners on bol, this will soon no longer be allowed.

Digital Service Act
The policy change is being implemented due to the introduction of the Digital Services Act (DSA): a European law established to make online platforms safe for users and protect their rights. By banning sponsored reviews, bol.com hopes to provide consumers with a more objective view of products, free from the influence of commercial interests.
How to collect bol reviews according to the rules?
According to bol, you may ask your customer for an honest product review as long as this request does not result in an extra email to the customer. Sending an email with an invoice is not considered an extra email. By requesting a review along with an invoice, you comply with the current rules.
